After reading An Insider's Guide to Academic Writing: A Rhetoric and Reader, I got to know that the natural environment comprises of all living and non-living things. In order to ensure their survival, human beings have to depend on animals and plants for food, on natural resources for day-to-day comforts, and on the atmosphere for oxygen (Miller-Cochran et al. 545). With the passage of time, it has become difficult for living things (except humans) to ensure their survival because of dangerous man-made things and unusual human activities. For example, we build factories in a large number and buy vehicles in order to ease our lives. While doing so, we add pollutants to the air, and this impacts animals and plants struggling for their survival.
