Well, growing up in a Christian family means a lot of things for a child. First, it means that every Sunday you will have to wake up early and prepare yourself to go to church. Secondly, it would also mean that you cannot insult other people and that you always say sorry, please, excuse me, and thank you (I believe every child regardless of background learns this at some point only that for me it was mandatory). The third thing was that it meant that I could not engage in certain habits and the children I used to be friend with had to be from other Christian families. As a Christian, I was expected to conduct myself in a way that set me apart. Childhood for me was quite different and I had to draw lines on who I could associate with and who I could consider as bad influence. Everything for me was looked or considered with the lens of how Christian is it or how did something impact my Christian life. My parents made sure that I always had the above notions in my mind and that in everything I did, these questions always appeared.
With such a lens, it should not come as a surprise that it does have some obvious impacts on my thoughts and understanding of many things in life including some course concepts. The first way I believe this lens impacts my thoughts is that it skews my thinking and I judge things based on what I was taught as a child.
