These missing people were discovered dead, and their corpses were found all over the place. Although autopsies revealed that they had been tortured and killed, the majority of their identities remained unknown. This concerning situation prompted the relatives of the missing to seek justice (Delgado 38; Morello 170). Although it took some time because they were afraid of the government, they were able to fight for their rights, particularly the women. The officers would not harm the women and would often bemoan their losses, giving them an advantage (De Bonafini and Sanchez 434). In conclusion, the deaths of over 30,000 people are considered inhumane and unjust and have scarred people's hearts and minds.
