The Routine Activities Theory can be applied effectively in learning terrorist activities. The strategy links terrorist activities as the result of existence of a crime triangle involving an offender (or terrorist), location, and a victim. The theory also links the development of terrorist activities to existing skills necessary to transform opportunities into crime (Michael 2003). Terrorist activities â€“ according to the routine activities theory - are crimes committed by individuals with considerable skills to exploit routine activities of a community and transform that opportunity into crime.
