I am a 22-year-old American patriot who has the interest to continue working and defending my homeland country. Therefore, I want to pursue your homeland security degree program to acquire the finest preparation for a distinguished and long career to enable me to work for military service efficiently. I am particularly interested in pursuing areas of forensics and information security under your degree program. Other viable career options, which I look forward, to pursue include the FBI and the CIA. Ever since, I have long enjoyed education and would, therefore, consider teaching as another viable career option.
I initially gained interest in Homeland Security in high school when I undertook a subject called “Terrorism and Its Impact in the World.” I studied different books about terrorism and counterterrorism. It was out of studying books about security and emergency management that influenced me to develop the interest of serving in the military to maintain peace and tranquility in the country. It was by a sheer realization that military service was something which I could do. This was what wanted to do to save lives.
I am a second lieutenant in the US Army; I have a top secret clearance; am well trained in telecommunications and serving in this area in my service. I am strongly convinced that this period of military service including my entire professional experience in connection to the relevant fields have offered me a significant preparation and experience for a profession in information security to providing service to my homeland country. As hard working personnel, I always have been a cooperating and good student, and I am deeply committed to lifelong education. Furthermore, I am a compassionate, respectful, and humble person.
