The Soviet Union collapse had its ramifications on Yugoslavia, where it was increasingly challenging to maintain the communist system within the emergent international order. The ideological framework collapse was highly catastrophic for Yugoslavia, which was traditionally anchored on the Union’s ideology. This ideology was downgraded as nationalism concepts emerged, thus culminating in Titosm replacement with nationalist tenets. Therefore, the collapse of the Soviet Union meant deteriorated socialism in Yugoslavia as Europe’s democratic principles penetrated the nation (Marolov 253). The Union's disintegration led to a trade partnership between the country and western powers through the European Union. Russia was to obtain an understanding of Western marketing and management procedures and learn novel manufacturing skills. This led to the Soviet Union signing a normalization consensus with the European Economic Community, thus improving international trade between Russia and European Union countries (Norwich University Online).
