Experimentation in music has expanded the horizons of how human beings appreciate music for decades. The pioneers of electronic music, classical music, and jazz had the idea that through exploring new music, thoughts could be established. These forms of music differ in production, composition, and, eventually, performance. Experimentation dates to the mid-20th century (Sun). Classical music is considered the pioneer of the experimentation movement as it began in the 1950s. Pierre Schaeffer and John Cage, early pioneers of experimentation, categorized this type of music as non-conforming to traditional techniques and compositions. The various forms of experimental music include free jazz, avant-garde pop, wave house, new wave music, and electronic music.
