For many decades, the debate on whether the decision to deploy the atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during the final weeks of the war in august 1945 was justifiable has been raging on. The U.S, just like the rest of the world was soldiering and counting on the end of the First World War which was the darkest era of human history that the world has ever seen. The war conflict was so costly to the United States of America; the war derailed the political and socioeconomic development not only in the US but also to the rest of the world. The United States made a stance that seeked to limit the number of casualties in the war. Something had to be done to shorten the war period and the use of an atomic weapon was a wise option. The attack was therefore justifiable and reasonable because that war had coasted the United States more than 418,000 lives (both civilians and military). Ordering the dropping of the atomic weapon was a distasteful act, but the US was definitely justified in deploying it (press et al, 2013).
