1969 Moon Landing
The moon landing of 1969 was a monumental milestone for the whole of mankind. It has been an event that has transformed global culture and has defined a larger and wider future for humanity. The American people were inspired to send astronauts to the moon after President Kennedy remarked that “"I believe this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to Earth. From there started the effort to achieve this very special feat.
In those times, it was the height of Cold War era, wherein there was a race to become a world superpower through the show of technological advancements and societal capability. In 1966, the first unmanned Apollo Mission was launched to test structural durability and gain important spacecraft research data. In just 3 years, American would have landed on the moon.
It was Armstrong’s famous quote "that's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.", which was immortalized through out pop media around the globe. Now, the earth could be seen as a planet, literally, from the moon’s powdery surface. Together with Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong took essential data from the moon by photographs and important terrain samples. They also ran various scientific tests and even planted the U.S.A ...
