Engineering and Other Fields of Study
Introduction
Engineering has had a close relationship with various fields of study throughout history, such as science, art, and architecture. Since people started using tools to build things, there has been a close relationship between engineering and other subjects. The three main subjects addressed in this essay are science, art, and architecture. These three subjects have been selected for this essay because engineers and people in the three fields have worked together to produce masterpiece art, bridges, and buildings in each period. Having the ability to develop a robust design yet attractive has been one of the reasons why engineering and arts have always had a relationship.
The engineers in the renaissance have depicted how scientists could work with people from other fields to achieve great things. The pictures showing the cathedral of Florence are an example of the way art and architecture can work together. The famous "Vitruvian" man is another example of how science and engineers have been able to work together over the years to develop art and beautiful structures. The chariot with scythes has also illustrated how scientists and artists can work together to develop amazing things. Da Vinci was a renowned artist (O'Connor 3), but he also used his engineering knowledge to develop some of his masterpieces. Some of the work is still renowned i...
