Education in Counselling
School counselors are important members of the faculty in modern schools. They help students in achieving their academic, personal, social and career potential. I was assigned to a counselor during my college years and she encouraged me to achieve higher education and become a better person. She is my inspiration as I plan to pursue a graduate program in counseling with a special interest in school counseling. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology which I hope is a good foundation for the program. I believe that the program will help me become the best school counselor I want to be.
When I was going to a community college, I was assigned to a counselor who took interest in my academic success she encouraged me to achieve higher education, and be the best version of myself. My desire to help students work through academic challenges was inspired by her. I want to be a counselor that understands each student and help them succeed in education in the same way my counselor helped me. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and believe my knowledge that field which has its foundation in the bases of human behavior is something I will draw a lot as a counselor. Psychology will help me to better understand myself and my clients. During my undergraduate studies, I had a special interest in counseling psychology.
