Introduction
In the United States census is used to get exact and 100 percent count of the total number of people. The demographic data obtained during Census are size, population distribution and population composition by place of residence. Census is conducted once in ten years in the United States. The paper reports on the pattern of population changes in Texas State from the year 2010 to 2017. Texas is one of the most rapidly growing states in the United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, Texas has continued to have strong population growth in the second decade of the 21st Century.
US Census Bureau reports that population growth in Texas has been fueled by a significant natural increase and by net immigration (domestic and international). Natural increase is accounted for by taking the no. of births minus deaths. For instance, there was a population increase of 1,302,632 between 2010 and 2013. From the total population increase, 684,964 occurred due to natural increase, accounting for 52.6% of the overall growth. On the other hand, 617,664 population growths occurred due to net migration accounting for 47.4% of the total increase (US Census Bureau). Texas became third in ranking among the fastest growing States. Texas was extensively diversified with almost 56% being minorities in 2012 that is Hispanics, Blacks and other races.
