Socrates is regarded as founding the father of Western philosophy. It is important to note that Socrates is seen as one of the strange Greek philosophers, and although he left no works, people got to note him through his students like Plato. Unlike the philosophers who came after Socrates, who were focused on determining how the world worked, Socrates was more focused on examining how people are expected to behave. Therefore, Socrates may be regarded as one of the first philosophers of ethics. It is crucial comprehending that Socrates’s style of teaching was different; instead of conveying knowledge, he focused on asking questions until the students developed their understanding. Socrates examined people using the Socratic Method, which made it possible for people to become aware of their ignorance and thus making it possible to promote humility and modesty.

In a society where society, which was highly defined by standards of beauty, Socrates was known for being unwashed, having long hair, and being barefoot. He was physically ugly (History, p.5).
