Life’s Unpredictable
Tears rolled down my face as we struggled to resuscitate my dad. The day was April 24, 2010. I was ten years old. "Please be a dream! Please be a dream!" I watched my mother check his pulse on the right hand and shook his body while emotionally calling out his name, "Dad! Dad! Dad!" My dad's mouth was dry and purple, and I could not hold my emotions back as it was a heartbreaking moment. When I look back at the worst day of my life, I still lose control over all my feelings. My jumping was not enough to try and stretch the handpick; so, I grabbed a chair to help reach it, but the shelf was not strong enough to support my weight. After realizing that I would fall off the chair, I held onto the frame by grabbing both of its sides. However, I was afraid and started shouting, "Dad, the shelf is breaking. It's heavy, and it's about to fall!" Dad’s steps gave me hope because it was a moment to get saved from nearly falling to the ground with rusty metals and screws.
Nonetheless, it was not a good sight because as soon as he stepped into the room, he stepped on a rusty metal screw that caused searing pain on his foot, and I saw him lift it as if it was a sharp sting. Things change very quickly, and he was mad at me for calling him into the room, but t...
