Myself as a Writer
I have written several essays during the year, and it was an exciting and informative experience for me. Overall, the course has allowed me to improve my skills and knowledge in writing and research. It has exposed me to new tools and other resources that I can use to improve my writing, and I have also improved my skills in using various academic formats. The assignments that I chose to cover in this reflection include my best essay, which was titled "Coronavirus," and my worst essay titled "The Value of Life."
Strengths and Weaknesses
As a writer, I have various strengths and weaknesses that I struggle with. Some of my strengths include my expertise in researching and locating the appropriate content that applies to a specific topic. Even though the internet can be very confusing due to a large number of researchers and authors, I can manage to get the right sources within a short time. I often focus on using academic databases like google scholar to ensure that I have the right sources. Furthermore, I also ensure that I acknowledge the sources of the information used. Due to my experience and experience with different citation styles like MLA and APA, it is easier to cite information correctly both within the text and in the references page. This knowledge was partially helpful when I was writing the best essay since I ensured that I had all the current resources to support the topic Another positive aspect as a writer I that I know how to format my papers correctly so tat the ready can follow what I am writing and that I the end, they will gain something new. I often rely on a strong thesis statement, and I also include topic sentences so that a reader can understand the content in each paragraph. Additionally, I often ensure that my paper looks balanced and appealing. For instance, the best essay has several paragraphs that were balanced, and each body paragraph contained data and other information to support the thesis statement. One of my weaknesses as a writer is that it can be a challenge to write longer papers. Even though most of the papers I gave written were less than five pages on average, I often struggle when the research requires over 10-15 pages since I will have to conduct more time-intensive research to find the right material that I can reference for my writing.
