Day 1
The first day’s reading material started in relatively high gear. The description of the cosmos grabbed my attention as the black part in the whole paper. I looked at the pale blue dot surrounded by a pale blue circle and wondered at the marvels of the cosmos. For once, the infinity of the darkness kept flickering in my mind. I tried figuring out where we are as humans and the dangers that are likely lying in the cover of the darkness. I also thought of death and tried to figure out if it is the human soul that gets to experience the cosmos. It is not easy to figure out the cosmos and what happens beyond the Milky Way. It is a rather twisting phenomenon that the earth is one amongst an infinite number of other stars.
Initially, I harbored different thoughts about so many things. However, after going through the first reading, I realized that we (humans) often run around, chasing things that do not matter in most cases. I realized the need to question everything around me.

The United States is known to many as “the land of the free” and “the home of greener pastures.” However, the reality of life in the United States is quite different. It was painful to see how society’s norms face erosion from an American view. So many deaths, riots, and wars in one of the nations celebrated the world over. The images revealed a hidden side of the world that most people never get to see. One would wonder how such an organized nation may have so much suffering. The reading still begs the need to look deeper and gain meaningful insight into the world's realities.
Most people would wish to run away from their nations to start their lives in the U.S. However, the main question they should ask themselves is whether there is life for them in that nation. There are lots of deaths at the hand of the authorities, especially for people of color. The implication is unexplained hate for the non-white communities. The debt crisis also keeps ballooning, leaving U.S. citizens in a critical situation. Once again, the need to look deeper manifests, a...
