Eyes on the Prize Episode 1
Human rights in America in the 50’s only applied to the native white community. ‘Eyes on the Prize’ documents a black community that believed America would be a better place for them and fought for justice and equality (PBS). The human rights society upholds justice and equality, but the two have not preoccupied the latter; racism and discrimination. What happened during the 1954-1956 period contributed to major reformations in human rights. The paper is a journal of America Awakening based on ‘Eyes on the Prize’ episode 1.
Everyone would give a story after watching the journal, and the level depends on how much one can relate to what happened in 1954-1956. In Montgomery, Alabama, the black negro race was alienated and segregated from the whites, which depicted a weakness in America’s constitution. Humanity is incalculable, and showing respect to people despite their race is vital (PBS). I firmly uphold fighting back peacefully and persistently asking for what rightfully belongs to a person.
I relate the episode to the education process. It is not easy, and it requires patience and a thorny heart. It gets to a point, and I feel like I want to quit, but I cannot quit. If the black negro community walked for 381 days to achieve what was rightfully theirs, I also can. The episode is a challenge to the faint-hearted. It reveals that no matter how hard or scary it could be to succeed, it depends on willingness and perseverance.
The material consists of scenes of photos of dead people, including the 14-year-old. It is moving to see how brutal black negros would suffer in the hands of the white racist. A fourteen-year-old boy was killed for talking to a white woman (PBS). The cunning inhuman act moved me.
“To Demand That The University Work For Our People”
The paper is a journal of chapter six that focuses on Chicana/o participation in a coalition. The coalition led to the implementation of strategies and objectives in Southwest. Chicano/a student movement was founded then, according to the chapter. Another movement called Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) was established (Samora and Galarza 1). It aimed at unifying and replacing other student organizations in California and across Southwest. 
The author was contented that UC San Diego is now an inclusionary and democratic space for all, including the formerly excluded communities. Chicano/a activism saw an increase in numbers of Mexican or Spanish American students in Southwest higher learning institutions. During the late 1960s and 70s, Mexican American Student Confederation (MASC), African American Student Union (AASU), and AAPA demanded fundamental changes in the university’s governing body practices.
