A call to Improve Campus Accessibility
Accessibility to all public areas ought to be a right especially for the physically challenged. There have been efforts to even make the bus line more access and hence should all the public facilities. Colleges and campuses are not left behind either despite some making an effort on the issue there is still so much more that needs to be done to make the facilities more accessible. According to Deshpande, she gives several aspects and proposals to that the government and campus leadership would take in order to make the facilities more accessible.
According to Deshpande, the government needs to implement laws that will make facilities comply fully with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) which requires every building on campus to be accessible (296).
