Essay Instructions:

The assignment:
Think about your local community here in Buffalo, or where you grew up. Find specific examples of charismatic, visionary, transformational, and institutional leaders in business, government, or nonprofit organizations.
Identify four (4) specific leaders. You will select one leader for each category of leadership (charismatic, etc.). You can use a wide range of resources to identify these individuals including local newspapers, etc. For example, Buffalo has a local newspaper dedicated to business (it’s called Business First).
For each leader, describe the situation in which they took a leadership role. What was the context? Explain the situation in enough detail so that someone not familiar with the individual or circumstances will understand. Next, explain how the leadership style was charismatic, visionary, etc. Last, evaluate how effective the leadership style was and whether or not the decision was a good one.
Format this assignment with an introduction, a main body, and a conclusion section, just like the requirements for the individual project phases.
You will be graded based on writing clarity and quality (grammar, etc.), organization, and on content.
