Positioning A New Product
The product I have chosen for this project is iPhone. This line of smartphones is manufactured and distributed by Apple Inc. The iPhone uses Apple's iOS mobile operating system and was first marketed in June 2007 (Giachetti 9). Since then, multiple versions of the handset have been released and liked by the world’s consumers. Years ago, when iPhone was released, no company thought of presenting a smartphone with a multi-touch screen, a virtual keyword, and a user-friendly interface. Thus, we can say that Apple Inc. is the first company to revolutionize the mobile phone industry. Today, the iPhone is proudly sold in almost all big markets of the world.
It got this position due to its capability of connecting to any Wi-FI, shooting high-quality videos, capturing pictures with great accuracy, playing the music of choice, sending and receiving emails quickly, following GPS navigation, recording notes effectively, performing mathematical calculations and receiving visual voicemail anytime (Giachetti 12). So far, Apple Inc. has released up to eleven generations of iPhone models, and the race continues. Each of its handsets accompanies an iOS operating system. The original iPhone was presented in a sleek design, and buttons were placed in a way that could make the screen look brighter, more appealing and attractive. Later on, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 joined the competition, but it could not beat the performance and overall effectiveness of iPhone.
One of the major goals of Apple Inc’s iPhone series is to please millions of consumers at a time. That’s why its software and hardware are updated on a regular basis, and previous models are replaced by new ones once or twice a year. Unlike Galaxy S9, the iPhone works seamlessly with all types of gadgets, especially the Apple TV, the Apple Watch and Macs. It got the most advanced camera of all times and allowed the user to perform multiple tasks at a time.
