Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Date Here is the Answer to Efficiency in the Delivery Service Industry: Robots In an effort to reduce congestion in our streets and to reduce energy consumptions, a number of companies in the delivery industry have now started to use robots. According to Diaz of fastcompany.com, robots are the key to eliminating the challenges faced by human beings when delivering products in congested areas because robots are more practical and less time-consuming. As a result, more companies are fighting to build the best robots that will ease the delivery process. One such company is Kiwi, which has been able to deliver food to consumers, with its first food delivery being to Berkeley students in 2017. The company has had over the 35,000 successful deliveries since it started using robots and recently, these deliveries are on an upward trajectory that now goes beyond 10, 000 deliveries per month, according to Coldewey, techcrunch.com. This number is quite high when compared to Kiwi’s, given that Kiwibot was launched a year earlier. However, it still shows that delivery bots might be the technology that disrupts the delivery service industry. In some few years’ time, almost every delivery company will have a delivery bot. Evidently, delivery bots are yet to overtake traditional delivery methods, but this is just the beginning. Other mainstream companies that have been in the delivery service industry for long are also taking up on the delivery bots market. FedEx recently launched its autonomous SameDay Bot that is aimed at enhancing efficiency in deliveries (Vincent, theverge.com). FedEx is not a startu...
