Business Fable
Fables are small stories which are used to educate people about certain issues that they experience in the society. The stories were made long ago but people have tried to make their new versions which fit in the modern situations. The work focuses on a fable and how it helps in promoting good ethical values within the society.
My new version of the fable is about an individual who was brought up in an unfortunate family. However, despite the challenges which he experienced in life he focused on his dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur. During the time he was still young, he always received stories from friends and other community members on how successful business men are learned. He admired other children going to school and achieving their dreams of reaching the institutions of higher learning. Unfortunately, he did not receive the same opportunity because his parents lack the needed finance to take him to school.
However, he never gave up despite the obstacles to his success and started a small business at home of selling doughnuts. Luckily, he received an aid from one of the politicians in the area who gave him some capital to expand his business after the person saw how the business was promising. The person used the capital to increase his production and advertised the products through the local magazines. Luckily, more people become attracted to the products and started travelling long distances to purchase the doughnuts. Further, he ploughed back his profits and started opening new branches in areas where he had several customers. After a short period, the business became well established and he became the main supplier of doughnuts in the area.
The person referred to in the story is the tortoise while the learned successful entrepreneurs are the tortoise. The person was not afraid to try to achieve his ambition of becoming a successful entrepreneur despite being discouraged by the stories that he heard while he was still young. Similarly, the tortoise did not give up even though it knew that the hair was the fasted animal in the jungle. Additionally, the person was determined to achieve his dreams despite starting the business with little capital.
The fable and its new version teach people to compete against any difficult situation that they may face instead of contesting against the rival who is not the actual challenge. A rival may seem powerful and dominant that the competitor will see no need of trying to challenge the contestant. The same applies to problems in life where a person may think that the problem is very large and there is no need to try a solution. Contrarily, the story teaches us that we should focus on the outcome of our effort in trying a solution instead of looking at the challenges that we will face in the process of achieving the results. Additionally, the story teaches people they should not give up in life. The tortoise did not give up despite knowing that it was the slowest animal on earth while the hire was the fasted. Further, the story teaches people to work to their own competencies. Despite how other individuals are skillful and completing their jobs faster, you should also do...
