Using the Academy Library Subject Guides, classmate and faculty recommendations, and/or resources you already use, research two professional associations within your chosen industry.
Compare and contrast the benefits of participating in each organization. What are the costs of membership, if any? Are there student memberships, and if so, how does the membership differ from professional membership? Do the associations sponsor regular networking or other events?
If you can join only one of the two professional associations, which one will you choose and why?
Next, use presented resources to discover two magazines or journals popular in your industry. Compare and contrast the types of content you can find in each publication. Which would you recommend to peers?
Post your work in a well-organized written analysis, presented in business-document format—no indenting, single-spacing within paragraphs, double-spacing between paragraphs, with clear subheadings.
After you have written your analysis of two professional associations and publications, create a Works Cited list of the resources used for your Industry Resource Analysis according to MLA Citation Guidelines.
