FENCES- A Reflection
The staging of the film adaptation of Fences is, on the whole, quite compelling. By retaining much of the theatrical feel of the original play, the film heightens the intensity of the performances and the story’s emotional impact. The limited range of locations, with most scenes in and around the Maxson family home, contributes to the film's sense of confinement and claustrophobia. This external constriction is reflective of the character’s internal struggles. The film's attention to detail, particularly in set design, further strengthens its impact.
