Diego Rivera was one of the most famous artists for doing his work on canvas using oil. One of the works that he did was Zapata-style Landscape, which he did in 1915. It attracted attention from different individuals and gained national recognition in Mexico due to the theme of the work; he portrayed Mexico as a famous country, thus raising its international standards as a tourist destination center. Zapata-style Landscape: 1915

Diego Rivera went to Europe in 1907on a scholarship that was he received from Teodoro Dehesa, who was the Governor of Veracruz at the time. He went to further pursue his art studies which he had started in 1887 (Weinberg, 2019). He went back to Mexico in 1910 so as to show what he had learned in Europe and showed his works to the National Fine Art School and later returned to Paris in 1911 and settled in Montparnasse, where he established himself as one of the most renowned artists and got visits from such great artists as Ángel Zárraga and Martín Luis Guzmán. 
The composition of the artwork in this case is in done in a synthetic-Cubist style. It is characterized by the peculiarity that the foreground of the artwork incorporates objects that are related to the Mexican Revolution that was taking place during that time.
