The company designs, develops, manufactures, and sells construction and mining machinery and engines. The company has its headquarters at Peoria, Illinois. It is a multinational company and has over 500 manufacturing and servicing outlets in around 180 countries all over the world. It also referred to as CAT.
Strategic Effectiveness
CAT aims to provide solutions to assist its consumers and the community in building a better planet. It is also working to hasten economic growth by developing the infrastructure. To achieve this, it has measures that verify the effectiveness of its strategic management. The measures are met by setting goals for the company’s operations. These goals include; developing better systems by maximizing the use of technology and encouraging innovations that boost the sustainability of its products and services. Also, it ensures the safety of people dealing with the machines, reducing the cost by minimizing the use of raw materials like water, land, and energy used in the company’s operations. These goals, among others, provide a basis for verifying the company’s strategy effectiveness concerning its aims.
Organizational Structure
The company’s organizational structure has been reorganized into divisions that are improving its efficiency and enhancing the simplicity of operations worldwide. It also aims at meeting the interests of the company’s stakeholders by observing accountability, responsibility, and taking care of rules and regulations of the federal law. The company is putting efforts to incorporate an executive officer responsible for; digital and innovation skills and improve data analysis. The organizational structure is simple and is divided into three departments, namely, engineering, manufacturing, and accounting. The organization’s structure has been designed to make the company’s products reliable by improving the speed of delivery of products to its customers all over the world and rewarding its employees (Dyck, 2013).
