Word critical reflection on the selected discipline. Politics

Essay Instructions:

For this assessment, you must select one of the following disciplines: Geography (week 2), Politics (week 3), or History, Classics and Archaeology (week 4).

You are required to write a 600-word critical reflection on the selected discipline.

A critical reflection is an exercise in which you are asked to write about one of the disciplines you have been introduced to and your own response to it. In it you should aim to provide answers to the following questions.

1. Why have I chosen to write about the selected discipline? Why do you find it interesting or challenging or engaging? Why does it speak to you at this particular moment?

2. What is the approach the selected discipline uses to study the world? Each discipline studies the world from a particular perspective and with focus on particular aspects of the world or society. In your understanding, what is the focus of this discipline? Can you explain the perspective it uses to see and study the world?

3. Why do I think the discipline is important to society? How do you think the selected discipline contributes to our understanding of the world today? Does this discipline’s perspective or focus bring important aspects or issues to light? How does it improve our understanding of the world?

4. What impact has it had on me? Has it changed the way you think about the world? Has it made you think about specific problems in a different way? If so, explain how and why.

You can choose to write your critical reflection on one of the disciplines introduced so far in the module using the lecture slides, readings used in class as well as readings or materials recommended during the lecture. You can also use external materials on the discipline you have researched on your own, but this is not a requirement for this assesment

I have chosen to write about politics because it is a field that brings everything together. Politics transcends all aspects of life in society. In religion, in education, in history, etc., one can trace instances of politics and how it continues to be a part of life. Another reason why I have decided to write about politics is that it involves everyone. People often say they are not political or do not care about politics. However, what many do not know is that everything in their lives is political and is controlled or governed by some political laws. One thing that I find interesting is the fact that politics controls everything or influences all aspects of a country. For example, through politics, governments determine what kind of life their people have. They determine whether they have access to the internet, what they see on the internet, whether they are free to move or worship or take part in certain activities. It is also through politics that the health of an economy is determined. Politics shape the economy by gifting the government power to decide the kind of businesses people run, how much they produce, the taxes imposed, etc. As already stated, politics transcends all aspects of life and hence its importance in the world today.
I have never been great at listening or following the political noises made in the world. However, as I am developing an understanding of how crucial politics is, I am slowly changing my interest in the field. I believe it speaks to be now because I have developed an understanding of how and why it is an essential part of the world. With understanding comes interest to chime in or to listen and be a part of it.

Politics studies the world with a special focus on power and governance. Whether in a country, region, area, or even organizations, politics seeks to develop an understanding of the world by focusing on power, how it is achieved, distributed, and the impact of different forms of governance. When people get involved in politics, they do so for different reasons. However, the main one is because they wish to be the main influencers because of the power that comes with attaining a political position. Aside from power, there is also the issue of governance, the different types of governance, and how eac...
