Once again, please choose something in our built environment that you can observe and analyze. Think about how it functions. Think about its relationships to the natural environment and to human welfare. What kinds of human design, engineering, and construction are essential to how it works? How much of that human intention is for resisting or overcoming natural hazards such as weather, microbes, geology, and so on? Are there natural systems that help the human design, engineering, and construction work better? If so, what are those natural systems? Does the human design and engineering make the best potential use of ecosystem services? If not, can you suggest improvements? If drawings, photos, diagrams, maps, etc. help you make your points, by all means use them
