Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot’s art style

The inspiration behind the related thematic aspect of landscape painting style was the basis of comparison between the two chosen art works namely: Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot’s, Souvenir de Mortefontaine, 1864 (fig. 1), and Claude Monet’s, Impression, Sunrise, 1879 (fig. 2). The schematics of both paintings show naturalistic landscape art that shows the atmosphere of the natural world as described by the artist with their works; however, the difference in the art style of the artist reflects their current affection during that era. Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot’s art style uses the traditional realism early in his career with his landscape arts with infrequent references to contextual painting of nature where he uses color palettes of continuous development of practice from neoclassical open-air landscape sketching, through Barbizon art to the starting innovations of impressionism. In Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot's transformational work, the beauty of nature doesn’t seem to longer suffice his inspiration for art; rather, he complemented his passion with the memories and recollection of the landscape while contemplating his painting, thus, provoking an added sense of romantic view in his art piece. The resulting masterpiece of Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot’s new found inspiration was the Souvenir de Mortefontaine. The painting was painted by Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot depicting his memories that that he had in the town of Mortefontaine. Jean-Baptise-Camille Corot’s vision in Mortefontaine was a woman who appears to be picking up the flowers in the tree while two children are placing the collected flowers in their company.
