Grassroots leadership involves groups of people engaging in a given action united by a common desire for change. The grassroots actions are driven by collective consumption, collective culture, and political self-management. According to the philosophy, people facing challenges in their personal life should be devoted to social change through action and reflection. Life is about the transition, things keep changing, and nothing is permanent including the challenges. However, we should create temporal happiness knowing that it won't last long but it is important to create temporary memories (Erenrich et al.2017). We need to acknowledge the temporary nature of human life and create beautiful things even though they are temporary.
Gap filling philosophy is about empowering those at the bottom and be able to transform their lives a bit transforming the entire level of the city. Communities should engage in gap filling to bring about development in the communities and to the nation. The approach of leading leadership now comes in when a group of community members takes the initiative of raising one another. The art of recovery philosophy shows how grassroots leaders deal with diversity among different communities and make the one. It shows how leadership can actually bring about social change. Young in his documentary he captures all these philosophies on leadership for social change.
