Vocaloid is a singing voice synthesizer application software developed by the Yamaha Corporation. It was first released in 2003. The software lets users input lyrics and melody and produce a song by singing or humming the notes. It uses synthesized singing to create an animated performance. Vocaloid has been used in various media, including songs for the anime industry, commercials, and video games. Vocaloid can also be used for creating covers of songs and making one’s own music. Professional singers have also used it for backup singing or creating new songs. In addition, the software has been used by famous real and virtual Japanese singers, such as Hatsune Miku, and has become popular among amateur musicians. The software is also used in research for creating new methods of synthesizing singing and for animating singing in real-time. It has been praised for its ability to create realistic-sounding vocals.
