Peter Eisenman’s article “Cardboard Architecture” explores the links between formal structure and spatial organization. Eisenman proposes that there is a need to better understand the spatial organization and how this influences formal relationship by highlighting on House 1 he designed. Eisenman’s aim is to explore how the model-like qualities in architecture design represented form, and for the reader there is a need to understand the structure of form rather than the link between form to function and meaning.
