Shakespeare in the Park
Shakespeare in the Park is a public theatre program that broadcasts theatre services to the public free of charge at the Delacorte Theater located in New York City’s Central Park. The program combines Shakespeare’s classics and modern playwrights to address major contemporary issues. The Downtown Season at Astor Place
The program includes five theatres airing several lineups of plays and musicals. The program focuses on addressing the major issues affecting people as narrated by the most renowned authors around the world. Each season airs approximately eight productions in the New York City. Among the notable artists whose works the program has covered include James Rado, Gerome Ragni, Ntozake Shange, and Lin Manuel Miranda, all of who have presented interesting works based on their personal experiences.

The program is devoted to representing the experiences of the diverse society that it represents. It also broadcasts several high quality performances at some of the lowest ticket prices. The program promotes new artists by offering them a platform to perform and develop their new works. It is located at Astor Place, hosts approximately 700 shows and serves over 100,000 audience members every year. Boosting of over 8,000 performances since its establishment, it has hosted top performers performing different kinds of music from Jazz to country music, including todays emerging musicians.
