Our study of technology and modern life have revealed that the development of technology is prompted by some desire to extend what it means to be human in and over nature such that humanity's place in the cosmos us consecrated, and/or we shoot our species beyond our particular moment in history. When motivated by these considerations, the proper use of technology will support our individual and communal efforts to achieve our being's ownmost possibilities, and in the process the ultimate human potential. When technological development is not informed by the issues we have studied, technology is mis-applied to do the work that is specific to and necessary for what Aristotle calls "the human function." The result is that rather than understanding and engaging world, life, other and self from a framework of our being, we develop a technological framework.

With the above review in mind, you are to create a future society (2035-2040) wherein two current/contemporary technologies have been developed and have become ever-more integrated in come aspect of the individual's life and some aspect of their society.

1.    Choose two current technologies. For each separate technology, research the impetus, development, use/misuse, politics, corporate development, and target audience of the two technologies. Write one paragraph for each technology. [7 pts ea.]

2.      What are the most likely future uses, re-designs, new uses and new users of each of these technologies? Think about what sectors or structures of society and life (i.e., social, political, economic, educational, medicinal, legal, business, personal, etc.) that are either not currently using these technologies; or, are currently using these technologies but could find new uses. Your goal is understand what are the (non-COVID-related) issues of society right now why; what were the circumstances, mistakes, short-sightedness, mal-intentionalities, etc. that led to the issue? How has the problem been addressed? What worked, and what didn't – why? You won't need to research each of these, but rather just one or two of them that you think would, could or should benefit from one of your two technologies in the future as additional potential uses or adaptations of each technology individually. Do each technology separately, and write one paragraph for each. [8 pts ea.]

3.    If you did #2 well, then you would have written a bit on the failings and virtues of human nature that are usually the root causes of most of the failings or virtues found in the structures of society. Sometimes we are amazing and great things follow…other times, we are own worst enemy. Discuss two aspects of human nature that you witness right now in society – one good and one bad. First, discuss each of your chosen aspects of human nature: specifically address how human nature shows up in decisions that lead to both positive and negative applications of technology in general; and, how human nature shows up in decisions that lead to both positive and negative aspects of society in general. Do each human nature separately, and write one paragraph for each. [9 pts ea.]

4.    Finally, apply the negative aspect of human nature (positive or negative) you discussed in #3 to one of the technologies and its likely future uses, and write a paragraph about the future. Then apply the other human nature to the other technology/social structure you established I #3 and write a paragraph about that future. [11 pts ea.]

It should be this time go without saying, that I will expect you to include either Aristotle's notion of being or Heidegger's notion of Being in your writing, as well reference and cite 3+ readings, 3+ class discussions, your last two media assignments, at least 1 other media assignments or blogs and one reference from each side of Debate #4.

Before you start, read these instructions – it could affect your final project grade

You may not do this portion with anyone else (this includes anyone at home or from the class - including your group/teammates. Doing so would amount to cheating.

Electric cars are technological advancements that were made to help the environment and the people by being energy efficient, having decreased emissions, and promoting convenience in comparison to standard cars (Gasbaoui, et al, 2012). Reduction in the demand for oil and harmful effects leading to climate change can be done with electric cars without taking away transportation from people. The quality of life is also elevated with the time spent driving. The reason for the invention of electric cars is to mainly produce an environment-friendly and convenient option for people in society who use land transportation.
Facial recognition software is another technology that reads the symmetry and geometry of a person’s eyes, nose, and other features to provide identification as well as verification of the face. This is one of the technologies that is used for security and personalization purposes which was first released in the 1960s but is now becoming more popular to the community. It has become more accessible that it is even found in our phones. It is useful for activities such as unlocking phones, prevention of retails crimes, helping the blind, forensics, etc.
Because of the innovation continuously made by man, the technologies continue to evolve and improve highly influencing the lives of every person in society. There is always something that can be changed to uplift man’s quality of life and ease in doing things around him. In the case of electric cars, in the future, more people and sectors will have access to this technology since it is still high-priced in the current market. An issue which is asked by some people regarding electric cars is the uniqueness of human touch and expertise in making decisions due to experience, and the disposal of batteries if it is all used up, which might present as another environmental problem in the future, but is not looked at before.
The use of AI in facial recognition software will expand and even be used in all sectors due to its convenienc. This has many uses in different fields of work and even in households ...
