The role of early childhood education is of extreme importance for the new generation to facilitate the development of basic cognitive, scientific, and development skills in the children. It is an admitted fact for centuries that the concepts and skills developed in early childhood can facilitate the humans until their last breath. The Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is one of the approaches which is proved to be helpful for the children in their early skills and learning capabilities (Corkin & Hollis, 2015). It specifically targets at meeting the children on their individual mental, physical, and cognitive levels and transform their learning habits to achieve complex and challenging learning processes. In this essay, a brief overview of the approach and specific guidelines set by the concerned authorities are discussed in detail.
The care providers and the associated institutes like “Day Cares” play a vital role in the development of early learning skills in the children. Their primary responsibility is to plan and develop the learning plans which facilitate the children in developing their early learning skills. The responsibilities of the childcare professionals are to develop initial learning skills while at the same time ensure the sustainable physical and mental development of the children under their care (Corkin & Hollis, 2015). The DAP consists of the basic guidelines which should be adopted by the child care to facilitate the early developments in the child care.
