The documentary "Sound and Fury" examines two brothers and their families as they choose whether to give their children cochlear implants. The video focuses on how the siblings and their spouses' divergent viewpoints and actions affected their grandparents.
Chris and Mari, the younger brother and sister-in-law, strongly support using cochlear implants. They hope their kid will benefit from the independence and new possibilities of his improved hearing. They deeply appreciate and commit to deaf culture, but they also think it is important for their kid to have exposure to the hearing world (Associazione Mente e Coscienza ONLUS, 2018). On the other hand, Peter, the oldest brother, and his wife, Nita, are enthusiastic advocates for the deaf community.
