What are the larger implications of the structure of school funding, and how this "system" impacts students?
While the school funding system is vital in the growth and development of schools, significant issues are directly linked to the achievement levels of learners. For example, in the United States, public schools receive funding from three arms of the government, but these funds come from taxes. This means that schools from wealthy neighborhoods receive more funding compared to those in poor areas. Thus, the inequitable amount of spending per school is directly connected to academic achievement.
