Introduction
The Electoral College is seen as an important legacy of a founding vision by some. Others see it as a remnant that enables minority dictatorship. Our founders chose electors to balance choosing the president by popular vote and allowing the House of representatives to determine the top executive. Each region has the same number of electors as its representatives of the United States House and Senate. The Electoral College should indeed be preserved because it assures that mainstream politics remain national.
