Assignment Description:
This assignment requires you to write an analytical paper based on the neighborhood identified in your proposal.
Informed by the feedback you received for the proposal, you must visit the identified neighborhood, analyze the neighborhood as an urban space, and write an informed and well supported analytical paper about the neighborhood.
This will give you the opportunity to connect important class concepts to real world examples and to develop your research, analytical, and writing skills.
Steps to Complete the Assignment
Firstly, you must visit the proposed neighborhood, analyze its social and economic activities and the built environment, take notes of the distinctive features and details you notice, and take photos of the neighborhood. When taking notes and photos, do not include information that can identify a person. Also, be mindful to disrupt the people around you.
Secondly, informed by course content and based on your field work, you must analyze the neighborhood at as an urban space.
You are Required to:
Write a structured paper that include an introduction and conclusion.
Write an analytical, as opposed to descriptive, paper.
Include a thesis statement that clearly states the argument of the paper.
Draw on at least two sources from the course syllabus.
Draw on at least one scholarly source from outside the course syllabus.
Support any claims that you make with evidence.
Draw on images to support your paper.
Good Papers Will:
Have a specific neighborhood.

Be analytical as opposed to descriptive.

This paper will analyze the Etobicoke Center, highlighting the main issues I found in this region. On the western side, the city starts at Highway No. 401 and moves easterly along the highway to Highway No. 427. It then moves easterly along the highway and Eglinton Avenue West until it reaches Martin Grove Road. It then moves north along the road to Dixon Road, which is then limited easterly along the road and easterly production until it reaches the Humber River to southeasterly until it reaches the river within Dundas Street West. I also move southwesterly along this street until it reaches the Canadian Pacific Railway, then from the Creek to Kipling Avenue. On the Southern side, it moves along the avenue to Bloor Street West and the street to Highway No. 427. It also moves on the southern part along this highway to Dundas Street West and on the west along the street to the limit of the city, while on the northwestern side, it also moves to the limit of the point of commencement. Even though there were various parts of Etobicoke, I decided to visit Etobicoke Center because of its outstanding social activities, economic activities, and built-in environments.
Social activities are important since they help the family, friends and community to socialize. The Etobicoke center is one of the regions which have outstanding social activities in Etobicoke. One of the social activities that I had an opportunity to see is the Woodbine Racetrack. This Woodbine is interesting since it hosts one of the famous Canada’s Thoroughbred races such as the Ricoh Woodbine Mile, Queen’s Plate, and the Pattison Canadian International.
