Part 1: Elevator speech: Human Resources Officer in the Army
I am currently working as a Human Resources Officer in the Army and I am now upgrading my skills at Excelsior College to be more competent, knowledgeable and skillful. I also provide personnel support to army men to maintain and improve their welfare.
I have professional experience in the military, while I am responsible for training, career development and managing teams of soldiers to support the army’s mission. I also oversee a training program for service men requiring professional experience to integrate skills and talents that are useful in the military and civilian life. This has been valuable, and I have overseen the transition of service men from accrual duty to professional life in the military and civilian life.
I am fully committed to serving the people of the United States, and as a servant leader, I will take into consideration the interests of seniors, the team and the subordinate. I am motivated to meet the objectives of each mission, which I am involved in, while empowering team members. My duty to serve, personal courage, respect, loyalty and honor will be valuable in motivating others and creating mutual trust to get things done.
Part 2- Elevator Pitch Review
As an employer, I would consider the individual who introduces himself personally and then briefly mentions his experience. This shows that he is competent as he has the skills and knowledge, while he shows that he can contribute positively to any organization as a servant leader
I would consider interviewing the individual for articulating his military experience, training and ability to manage teams. The individual not only communicates clearly who he is, but also that he seeks to inspire and mentor others as a leader.
The individual was eloquent as he clearly explains what he has accomplished, what he does and how this makes him competent to take more responsibilities. He is also able to transition from his past experiences to what he is currently doing now and his future plans.
