This essay will explore the categories and types of crimes. Homicide is defined as a broad classification of crimes where one takes the life of another person. Criminal homicide is divided into three classes: murder, involuntary manslaughter, and voluntary manslaughter (Liem et al., 2020). The type of homicide that is sanctionable by law is one where there is sufficient evidence supporting the imminent danger causing bodily harm to the innocent by the deceased. It is defined as an act of self-defense. The law defines the act of killing in terms of degrees as morally blameworthy or not. The intentional infliction of bodily harm to another person results in the victim's death id murder. First-degree murder is the type of killing which is willful, premeditated, or deliberate. The killing also happens in the course of a dangerous felony.
The difference between felony murder and manslaughter is that felony murder may punish the person who did not commit the crime. If one may be participating in a felony that could lead to a person's death, they may be punished for the murder. Manslaughter is not considered as serious as murder. It can be categorized into voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. It does not require the intent to kill....
