NIMBYs, on most occasions, entails the group of people who are opposed to specific changes that are likely to occur in the community. According to environmental equity principles, there is always a challenge to local autonomy and democratic practice. Therefore, NIMBYism is considered a process through which society expresses its democracy of freedom (Foster & Warren, 2020).
