1 The U.S. has a First Past the Post electoral System (FPP). Give one reason why some people do not like the FPP system that the United States has.The United States does us the First Past the Post voting system which is also commonly referred to as simple majority voting, plurality voting or winner takes all voting. It is a simple method where voting takes place in single member constituencies. Voters put a mark next to their desired candidate and the candidate with the most votes wins the election. Although simple and cost effective some feel that the system has the ability to let a candidate get elected with small public support as the size of the winning margin is not considered in this system, number of votes is what matters.
