The southeast Asian country chosen is Cambodia. Cambodia is heavily endowed with natural forest resources. Data reveals that Cambodia’s natural forest cover was over 70% by land area prior to 1970 (De, 2002). Cambodia is heavily reliant on these natural resources for economic activity and sustenance. There are two main ways in which these resources are used. First, wood is the primary source of fuel. Most people in the kingdom of Cambodia (over 80 %) live in rural areas and depend on wood as the primary fuel source. Therefore, the natural forest resource is used as a means for providing wood for fuel. The second way in which the natural forest resource is used/manipulated is through logging.
