Search the internet for 5 examples of archaeological evidence. Online museum collections and publications such as National Geographic and Archaeology Magazine are good sources. Note that some categories may be more difficult to find than others. You must provide:
one example of an artifact
one example of an ecofact
one example of a non-architectural feature
one example of an architectural feature
one example of human remains
Compose a 1-paragraph summary for each evidence example that addresses the following points (in any order). DO NOT identify the evidence category of each example. In other words, DO NOT label the item as an artifact, ecofact, etc. This will be done by your classmate in Part 2 of the discussion. Instead, title each evidence summary in the following way - Example #1, Example #2, Example #3, Example #4, Example #5. Each evidence summary must include the following information:
Context:
Site association - what is the name of the site where it was found?
Geographic location - where is the site located?
Archaeological culture - which past group of people/civilization, etc. is it associated with?
Age - what is its specific age, or what chronological period does it come from?
Interpretation: 
Use (applicable for all but human remains) - how was it used/what was its purpose/what function did it serve?
Manufacture/modification (applicable for some evidence categories): how was it manufactured or modified? 
What else have researchers learned about the evidence and the human behaviors/activities or individual (in the case of human remains) it illustrates?
Post your 5 evidence summaries AND a photo of each item into the discussion board. Make sure to cite your sources (see more information below).
Format: Evidence summaries & photos must be titled in the following way - Example #1, Example #2, Example #3, Example #4, Example #5. Each summarized piece of evidence must be written in complete sentences and paragraph format. A minimum of 1-paragraph is required for each piece of evidence and a photo must be included.

Example #1 – Venus of Willendorf
The Venus of Willendorf is a Venus figurine that is estimated to have been created about 25,000 years ago. It was found in Willendorf, Austria, where a paleolithic archeological site was located. Based on carbon dating technologies and the association with the site, it was found that this figurine was created during the Upper Paleolithic period. This dating process was also supported with similar figurines that were dated from the same period. Additionally, archaeological studies show that the primary purpose of the figurine was either to serve as a sexual representation of women’s fertility for men or as a self-portrait for women (Learn, 2021). It was created from a single piece of stone, which is chipped until the final figure emerges.
Example #2 – Amesbury Archer
The Amesbury Archer is the skeleton of a human being that is estimated to be around 4000 years old. It was found near Stonehenge, and forensic analysis of his bones and teeth shows that the man lived in Britain, especially near the Alps. Additionally, the dating of the man’s fossils shows that he died between the ages of 35 to 45 years old and was suffering from a limp during his lifetime. His grave includes various objects, including a cushion stone that was made of metal. Based on the archaeological analysis, it was estimated that the Amesbury Archer is a wealthy man. Archaeologists said that this is supported by the presence of a cushion stone, which signifies his metal-working expertise. The man’s limp also suggested that he could not be a hunter or a regular tradesman. Thus, since metal-working is a relatively new trade during his time, this suggests that the Amesbury Archer is a wealthy man during his era (Salisbury Museum, 2021).
