8-1 & 8-2 MY POST Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Part 8-1 Leaders have responsibilities concerning the socialization of the employees they hire. Onboarding is an ethical implication linked with the socialization process. According to Taylor, Santiago & Hynes (2019), onboarding is the process of familiarizing recruits to the organization's culture and other employees. The leader is tasked with introducing a company’s culture, mission, procedures and rules to the new employees. The process of onboarding new employees demands the leader to impart the organization's missions, goals and purpose. The process also requires the leader to provide new employees with a complete job description and inform the new hires of their responsibilities beyond what was discussed during the hiring and interview process. There are ethical implications to the onboarding process such as transparency and truthfulness which are essential in eliciting open communication and trust from new employees. A leader plays a vital role in employees’ welfare and their responsibilities. The leader guides the employees and hence liable for employee ethics and ethical standards. Additionally the leader impacts on the incorporation of new hires to the pre-existing culture of the organization. For instance, in the Human resource department, the leaders are responsible for organizing forums in which recruits interact with the existing employees and create a healthy work relationship through motivating old employees to introduce them to the diverse aspects of the organization. Socialization plays a significant role in the retention of new hires thus reducing turnover rates (Taylor, Santiago & Hynes, 2019). Additionally, socialization helps in the creation of a healthy working environment and also new employees get to learn about the organizations' values, culture history and receive a sense of membership.
