I will best analyze this topic using the social lens. It is an issue whose information is founded on interaction of people, making the social lens the best when analyzing it. Several demographic and statistical information is available to support the analysis of this topic. Demographically, women were the most affected gender as most of the tried and convicted witches were females. However, some men were also accused and tried, but the number did not outdo that of the females. Statistical information also shows that between 200000 and 500000 witches were prosecuted in Europe and around 85% of these were women (Ben-Yehuda, 1980).
