“Yoga is often thought of as very physical, the sutras primarily encourage that are intellectual and spiritual (p. 31).” This is related to the deepening of a Christian’s faith at the time of Lent Season. This paper shall dwell in the concepts that associate Yoga with Lent through the Yoga Sutras.
Initially, the text suggested that “Patanjali’s yoga is theistic, much less Christian, but it does not mean that he recognizes this ‘turning to the Lord’ as beneficial (p.26).’ The first book of sutras introduced the concept of absorption or samadhi was described.
