Religious Message: The song conveys the message that walking with Jesus and trusting him to save humans from all the wars going on with themselves and in the society around them, even though he has not been faithful to God, is the only way to be saved.
How the Video Affects the Message: By portraying slavery, wild fires, police and crime scenes, drug dealers and a religious fanatic, all singing and calling on Jesus, the video correctly supports the Themes of the song that Jesus is needed.
Why I think the Artist made the choices and how it makes the point about religion: He must have noticed so much or experienced so many societal misgivings and possibly had or came close to being depressed, and then discovered that when He calls on Jesus or walks in the way of God, he feels good. This is a very clear message that all religions preach; that following the path of righteousness is rewarding and neglecting it has consequences.
