1 Describe two primary distinguishing ethical tenets or rules observed by the religion.
The principles of Tikkun Olam and Teshuvah are ethical tenets that reflect Judaism’s emphasis on the importance of ethical behavior, social responsibility, and spiritual growth. They are part of a rich and diverse moral tradition that continues to inspire and guide Jewish individuals and communities today (De Sondy et al., 2020).
2 Describe the founder. If there is no founder, describe how the religion originated.
There was not a single founder of Judaism in the way that one might think of the founder of a modern-day religion. Instead, Judaism emerged over time as a complex set of beliefs, practices, and traditions passed down from generation to generation.
Some influential figures in the development of Judaism include Moses, King David, and the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, who helped to shape Jewish theology and ethics (De Sondy et al., 2020).
3 Describe the principal god(s), deities and or spirits.
Judaism is a monotheistic religion, meaning it believes in one God. In Jewish tradition, this God is often called YHWH or Yahweh and is believed to be the creator and ruler of the universe (De Sondy et al., 2020).
